Mark Straßberger
CEO & Founder
Third-generation real estate entrepreneur. Mark has been running the family business since 2008 and built companies across real estate development, construction, and marine industries throughout Germany. His firsthand experience with the gap between digital tools and real-world operations — across more than 15 ventures — is what drives Aquilo's product vision.
Heinrich von Helmolt
CTO & Co-Founder
Started his career at Siemens, studies Mathematics, and gained deep experience in production software and international teams before leaving the corporate world in 2024 to commit fully to Aquilo. Heinrich builds everything from infrastructure to product — driven by the belief that well-crafted technology should feel simple to the people who use it.
Our Philosophy
Aquilo - means north wind in Latin - symbolizes a strong, reliable and crystal clear wind which is always coming back. In Philosophy this wind is referenced as blowing away old Ideas and clearing the mind. Making space for new Ideas and thoughts. This is what we want to achieve with our products. Reliability, simplicity in use, and a clear path for our customers to achieve their goals.
Our Story
Mark and Heinrich met in 2022 while working on a marine project in France. Across every industry they had touched — construction, real estate, manufacturing — they saw the same pattern: teams struggling with fragmented tools and misaligned priorities. They founded Aquilo in December 2022, began building in 2024, and launched their first product, NeKo, in 2026. More products are on the way.
